Vail Resorts, with an extensive portfolio of properties acquired over time, was facing an inconsistent digital experience across its resorts. With a shift toward implementing Sitecore as their digital experience platform (DXP), they needed a unified UX that standardized modules and components for ease of maintenance while still allowing flexibility for each resort’s unique business rules and amenities. Additionally, aligning diverse marketing priorities across individual resort managers with corporate goals was a significant challenge.
Mouche partnered with Vail Resorts to lead the design effort as their internal team handled the technical implementation of Sitecore. Through a comprehensive strategy phase—including user interviews, secondary research, card sorting exercises, and usability testing—Mouche gained deep insights into the unique needs of each resort. The design solutions standardized key components to create a cohesive digital experience, while still providing the flexibility required for resort-specific variations. Collaboration with the technical team ensured that every design was both visually compelling and technically feasible, and to support long-term maintenance, each resort was provided its own dedicated section in Frontify.
While specific numbers remain confidential, Mouche’s efforts led to notable improvements across key business areas. The redesigned digital experience helped increase lift ticket conversions, boosted Epic Pass sales, enhanced Ski School enrollments, and even drove higher summer ticket sales through the successful Vail Epic Discovery.
